With a focus on re-energising the site for aviation, to include the growing market for micro-lights and drones, along with research & development, teaching and training activities. There had been private fixed-wing flying from North Denes since 1950, but helicopter flying began there on 22 April 1965, formerly used as a base for services to the gas platforms in the southern North Sea.
